  • Space NK is set to debut in Wales with a new physical store opening this summer. The new site in Cardiff will be the beauty brand’s 74th in the UK, part of its new larger-format store offering. Space NK’s latest openings include stores in Battersea Power Station and Edinburgh, and it is also set to expand its top-performing store on Duke of York Square in London.

  • Deliveroo and Asda are to expand their partnership with a new delivery site in London’s Tottenham Hale. The Deliveroo Hop site will offer over 1,300 products from Asda’s range, for delivery in 15 minutes. Deliveroo and Asda’s core grocery partnership is also set to be extended to 350 stores. Senior vice president of e-commerce at Asda, Simon Gregg, said: “The trail will provide us with valuable insight into how we can look to leverage our new convenience stores to bolster our last-mile delivery options for customers”.

  • HMV will return to its Oxford Street flagship after four years. The store will bear the new HMV Shop format and the brand’s new logo; the new branding will be added to 24 new sites and 14 existing stores by the end of 2023. Geoff Barraclough, Westminster City Council cabinet member for planning and economic development, said: “It’s fantastic to see this iconic brand back on Oxford Street where it stood as a driver of music and pop culture in the capital for so long. It’s also particularly pleasing that it is replacing one of the many US candy stores that sprang up during the pandemic.”

  • Three sportswear brands have announced the opening of experiential stores across the UK. This year, Nike is to open the second store under its Rise concept in Manchester’s Arndale centre, in a former 13,418sq. ft. Topshop unit over two floors. Sportswear retailer On has opened a pop-up at Liverpool ONE, with an offering of products and events, which will remain open until the beginning of June. Footasylum will open a 20,000sq. ft. store on London’s Oxford Street in the second half of the year following high demand for its branded streetwear ranges.
