Greggs has launched a partnership with Primark, comprising a clothing range and in-store cafés. The limited collection of 11 pieces will be available in 60 UK stores, while Greggs operates a café at the Birmingham store with self-service coffee carts and click-and-collect capabilities. Greggs business development director Raymond Reynolds said: “Our ‘Tasty by Greggs’ café will be the first of its kind, and will offer an exciting Greggs experience, underpinned by the great products and service that’s already delivered across all of our shops.”


LEISURE

Filipino fast food chain Jollibee will open its first Scottish stores starting this month. The Edinburgh site will open on Princes Street next week and the Glasgow site will open in late March. The first UK Jollibee opened in London in 2018 and the company now operate nine locations across England and Wales. In 2020, the group said it aimed to open 50 UK restaurants within five years. Dennis Flores, president of Jollibee Europe, Middle East, Asia and Australia, said: “The reception for Jollibee in 2021 gave us confidence that our new store design and locally-relevant menu created specifically for our European audience was working.”

Thunderbird Fried Chicken is to open four new brick and mortar sites by the beginning of June this year. The new sites in Clapham Junction, Kingston, Putney and Wimbledon join existing restaurants and delivery kitchens across the UK, with three further franchise sites planned at Parkdean Resorts holiday park locations.

PROPERTY

A former Debenhams site in Camarthen, Wales is to become a centre for the council, health board and cultural services. The Camarthen Hwb (Hub) will host a gym, a part of the local museum collection and a welcome centre for tourists, along with other services for residents. The project, funded by the UK government and Camarthenshire Council, is being developed with the Hywel Dda health board and University of Wales Trinity St David. It is hoped that work will be complete by spring 2024.
