Sarah joined the team in 2016 and is responsible for the management of all marketing channels for the Local Data Company. Having always worked in B2B, she brings with her varied experience in online and offline marketing including content marketing, social media and events. In her spare time Sarah enjoys stand-up comedy, trying out recipes from the Great British Bake-off (if you’re brave enough to try them) and has made a (slightly shaky) venture into the world of half-marathon running.

Lucy joined LDC with extensive experience from her time at CACI in helping retailers better understand where to be or not to be. She works with a diverse group of occupiers from supermarkets, fashion brands to restaurants where she provides insight, knowledge and the dashboards to ensure clients are able to make evidence based decisions, which deliver a positive impact on their business. In her spare time Lucy is a member of The Retail Trust and also volunteers once a week as a learning mentor with a charity supporting refugee families in and around Wandsworth.

Sophie is the National Head of Retail and Wholesale at BDO LLP. She is an Audit Partner with over 25 years of experience of advising clients. She is passionate about the retail sector and has specialised in advising large private, private equity owned and listed clients from within the sector throughout her 25 year career. She leads the strategy and development of the sector nationally and works with clients as they navigate an ever-changing environment. Outside client work, she is a member of the ICAEW Retail Sector Report Working Group, drives the weekly BDO High Street Sales Tracker which tracks LFL sales and leads the BDO Retail FD Forum.

Sophia Dempsey is Managing Director at Springwise and is responsible for growing the Springwise brand across the globe. Sophia has a strong track record working on and growing international brands with particular knowledge of building bespoke digital and print subscription-based products and leading innovative data and e-commerce initiatives. Her successful career to date includes time as Publisher of award-winning, multi-platform brands including Motor Sport, Decanter and The Field. Before moving into her publishing roles, Sophia worked in brand and subscription marketing at Time Inc, Reed Business Information, and several arts titles.

At Springwise, Sophia is immersed in the global innovation community with fresh insights into the newest and most transformative new businesses and innovations from every corner of the world. Springwise Innovation Reports have become a must-read for CEOs, innovators, investors, educators and corporates from all sectors and our latest book, “Disrupt! 100 Lessons in Business Innovation” was published by Hodder and Stoughton in 2017.

Neil joined Tossed as Finance Director in 2010 when the business had just four stores.  Since then, he and Vincent Mckevitt (Founder and MD) have transformed the business, and it now trades from 40 locations in London, on the motorways and overseas.  They are passionate about leading innovation in the food service sector, having pioneered the first cashless stores in Europe and, more recently, introduced fresh healthy vending to the UK.  Outside of work, Neil enjoys spending time with his young family, playing and watching football, and can be found on the ski slopes as often as possible in the winter.

Darren Williams (Known as DW) is Managing Director at DW Exec consulting, and a Board Director at the Italian Wine business Vini Italiani.

DW Exec specialises in Interim C-suite/non-exec, Customer Experience and Location Strategy. Darren also speaks on the industry circuit as well as hosting and panel moderating at both corporate and charity events. He currently holds 2 Ambassadorial roles, being a Schools Role Model for Stonewall, and fundraising and awareness for Target Ovarian Cancer – the disease to which he lost his Mother. He is also a former Chairman of the Committee for the Retail Trust and continues to support the charity from the sidelines.

He entered the industry at the age of 17 and worked as a Store Manager from the age of 19 through to his late twenties, then in 1998, was part of the team that launched Orange Retail, where he quickly progressed to his first Area Management role.

Darren has experience across multiple genres of the Retail industry, including leading the Argos business in London, and heading up the expansion of the Hotel Chocolat Retail business between 2009-2014. More recent roles were Commercial Director at the UK arm of the French Bakery Paul, and Country Director of T2, part of Unilever, where he established the business in the UK and USA markets.

A keen runner, he has completed 3 London marathons and will continue further fundraising runs for Target Ovarian Cancer in 2018.
